Medics participates in the “For Gaza” conference in Istanbul to support the humanitarian and health response in Gaza

The International Medical Relief Association, “Medics,” participated in the “International Humanitarian Summit for Gaza” conference, organized by the Turkish Diyanet Foundation in the city of Istanbul on 11 and 12 November 2025. Medics’ participation was an extension of its efforts to support the health sector in Gaza and to stand by patients and the wounded, as well as its commitment to strengthening cooperation with humanitarian institutions to meet the growing needs of the affected population.

The conference brought together representatives from more than 200 institutions and organizations from 48 countries, with the aim of strengthening solidarity with Gaza and discussing mechanisms for delivering humanitarian aid more effectively. Its sessions addressed urgent needs in the areas of health, shelter, education, and infrastructure, alongside ways to develop a joint and sustainable response that helps alleviate the suffering of the population and restore essential services.

Medics’ participation in this gathering comes from the connection between its humanitarian mission and the needs of patients and the wounded, and from the importance of integrating urgent relief with support for the ability of health institutions to continue their work. This approach includes supporting medical services, providing treatment supplies, and supporting health staff and facilities, helping to ensure the continuity of care and protect the lives of the most vulnerable groups.

The convening of the conference represents an important space for bringing the efforts of relief institutions and supporting parties closer together, and for linking response priorities to the actual needs on the ground. For Medics, participation in such forums aligns with its efforts to expand humanitarian cooperation and exchange expertise, in a way that serves the development of medical interventions and reaches patients who are prevented by displacement and the loss of services from receiving treatment.

This participation reflects Medics’ commitment to keeping support for Gaza and its health sector among its work priorities, as part of its broader mission to assist those in need around the world. The association continues its efforts based on the understanding that protecting people and preserving their dignity require sustained work and responsible cooperation, one that links solidarity with practical support and gives those affected a better chance at treatment and recovery.
