The International Medical Relief Association – Medics participated in the annual General Assembly conference of the Federation of Islamic Medical Associations (FIMA), which was held in Thailand with the participation of a distinguished group of representatives of medical and humanitarian associations and institutions from various countries around the world, as part of efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation, coordination, and the exchange of expertise in the fields of medical, relief, and humanitarian work.
Medics’ participation in the conference comes from its commitment to strengthening its presence in international medical and humanitarian forums, and expanding its network of relations and partnerships with active institutions in the health and relief sectors, opening new horizons for cooperation and the development of joint initiatives that contribute to improving the level of response to health and humanitarian needs, especially in areas affected by crises, disasters, and conflicts.
The conference provided an important space for exchanging expertise and experiences among the participating institutions, and for discussing the most prominent challenges facing medical and humanitarian work amid the increasing crises around the world, in addition to reviewing experiences and practices that would improve the efficiency of health and relief programs and strengthen their ability to reach the most needy groups and communities.
Participation also provided an opportunity for direct communication with representatives of a number of medical associations and institutions, and for discussing possible areas of cooperation and developing institutional relations, contributing to building more effective and sustainable partnerships, and unifying efforts and expertise to serve communities that suffer from limited access to basic health services.
Medics believes that addressing contemporary health and humanitarian challenges requires integrated efforts and strengthened joint work between local and international institutions, and benefiting from diverse expertise and specializations to develop more efficient and sustainable humanitarian responses capable of making a real impact on the lives of beneficiaries.
This participation falls within Medics’ direction toward expanding its international presence and strengthening its strategic partnerships, in support of its mission to provide medical and relief care to those affected and in need, and to contribute to protecting health and human dignity wherever the need arises.
Medics – We relieve the human being.
