Syria

An introduction to the region’s situation, crises and severe need:

Years of war and displacement in Syria have created extensive health and humanitarian needs, and weakened the ability of hospitals and medical centers to provide the necessary care. With rising treatment costs and a shortage of medicines, staff, and equipment, families face difficulties accessing essential services, especially in affected areas and displacement camps. The risks of malnutrition and diseases linked to unsafe water also increase children’s suffering, while returning families need health services that help them regain stability.

Medics works to support those affected in Syria through field hospitals and mobile clinics, by supporting dialysis units, and by providing urgent surgical interventions, alongside providing safe housing for displaced families; to help alleviate suffering and improve access to care and protection.
